Point In Fandom Taken From: end of End of Time part 2
Brief History: Master , or original Koschei, was born on Gallifrey during the Rassilion era three months before the Doctor (then Theta Sigma). He once served as a legal authority until the Doctor stole a type 40 TARDIS. Angry and upset that his childhood friend ran away without telling him he took chase. As the years progressed the Time Lord slowly went insane and the chase became a type of game to him. One that was dangerous and dark yet gave him focus. The chase changed again when the man was on the last regeneration. He now was trying to take the Doctor’s regenerations for himself. Trying to extend his own life. This edged off when the council granted him more regeneration after saving the Doctor’s life in the Dead Zone and came back to a head when he quickly went through those regenerations again. During a final attempt the Master was shoved by the Doctor into the Eye of Harmony (better known as the Heart of the TARDIS) where his personality, memories and thoughts where preserved. These were retrieved and using the man’s own DNA the Master was revived to his full power with the use of a process called Looming. He was revived for the sole purpose to fight in the Time Lord… A war he ultimately ran away from and hid as a human at the end of the universe only to be discovered by Martha, Jack and the Doctor. As soon as the time lord persona was reawakened the man restarted his game of cat and mouse with the Doctor. He nearly succeeded with the Year That Never Was and the End of Time and was defeated both times by the Doctor. During the End of Time he disappeared. Some assumed he burnt himself out…but that may not be the case
